One of the most important parts of my day is my skincare routine. I definitely place more emphasis on my nightly routine, but the products I’m sharing here can be used in the morning as well as at night.
With so many products out there it can be hard to decide where to start. I personally like to change up my routine every few months to keep things new and exciting.
Currently I’m using the following products:
Each morning I use the hydrating toner. I apply it with a cotton pad all over and wait for it to set in. It’s actually got real rose petals inside of it and it smells amazing! I then apply the olive oil eye serum to the under eye area as well as my eye lids. Then lastly I scoop some of the honey drop moisturizer into my hands and warm it up a little. Then I massage it into my face in small circular motions. If there’s any excess I apply it to my neck. I love this face cream because it’s so lightweight. I personally don’t like heavy face creams because I feel like they clog pores easier. This face cream by Farmacy leaves my face feeling light and fresh.
It’s a pretty simple routine and it only takes a few minutes, but it’s very important to stick with it daily. At night I make sure to wash my face of any makeup and then follow the same routine.
Every few days after I wash my face I use the pore dermabrasion exfoliator. You really only need a small amount – smaller than a dime even. And I focus mainly on the T-zone area of my face since that’s where most pores become clogged. This is because the t-zone tends to have more oil than the rest of the face. For those of you that don’t know what the T-zone is, it’s the forehead, down the entire nose, and down to the chin.
Since exfoliators are usually rough, it’s only recommended to use them once every 3/4 days. If an exfoliator is especially rough then you would only need to use it once a week. It’s definitely good to give your pores a good cleaning though so I definitely recommend using a good exfoliator. This exfoliator feels very gentle too which I love. It feels soothing when I massage it in as opposed to other exfoliators I’ve tried that are rougher.
One thing I can’t emphasize enough is how important it is to invest in your skin. Yes, most face lotions and potions tend to be on the pricey side, but you will not regret spending the money on your skin. This is something you should not be stingy with. You will definitely see a difference after using products like the ones I listed here.
I actually tried a cheaper face cream recently – the Olay Whipped Face Cream – and it caused me to break out. It is so rare for me to have any sort of blemish on my face. I was shocked. I had only used it for about a week, but that was enough to clog my pores it seems. I had very deep cyst-like pimples that took a good month and a half to get rid of. I immediately stopped using the Olay face cream and started using the products listed in this post.
I will always treat my skin right and I hope you do too!
